Compensation Expectation $75-85/hour 

 
What You'll Do as a Cloud Engineer
The Cloud Application Engineer will design, deploy, and support cloud-based applications and services with a primary focus on Microsoft Azure. This role will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of cloud environments while supporting application delivery, deployment, and ongoing operations.
 
  • Design, deploy, and maintain cloud-based application environments within Microsoft Azure
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for cloud applications, performance issues, and system configurations
  • Monitor cloud infrastructure and applications to proactively identify and resolve potential issues
  • Support application deployments, testing, and release activities across staging and production environments
  • Collaborate with DevOps teams to implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions and automation initiatives
  • Manage application updates, patching schedules, and deployment processes while minimizing operational disruption
  • Participate in change management, release planning, and cloud governance activities
  • Ensure cloud environments adhere to security, compliance, and operational standards

Qualifications
You could be a great fit if you have:
  • 5–8 years of experience supporting and engineering cloud-based applications with a strong focus on Microsoft Azure
  • Experience with Azure services including App Services, Azure Functions, Azure SQL, Storage, and Networking
  • Strong understanding of cloud architecture principles, including scalability, high availability, and security best practices
  • Experience supporting CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or similar platforms
  • Proficiency with PowerShell, Azure CLI, and cloud automation technologies
  • Experience managing application deployment and patching lifecycles in cloud environments
  • Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills within cloud-based systems
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field

Preferred Skills
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates
  • Familiarity with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights, and related observability tools
  • Exposure to containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker and Kubernetes)
  • Experience supporting multi-cloud or hybrid cloud environments
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 integration and cloud-based enterprise services
