Job Title: Senior Technical Consultant, Gen AI
Location: Addison, TX – Onsite 4 days a week

The Company
Headquartered in Dallas TX, our client is a technology and strategy consultancy that aims to provide a competitive edge for its clients by solving complex problems with data, software, and strategy. They specialize in areas like technology strategy, product development, software engineering, and digital transformation, with a particular emphasis on AI, MLOps, and Data Engineering. The firm's clientele spans various industries, including AgTech, Healthcare, Logistics, and Financial Services.

Platform / Stack
You will work with technologies that include RAG, Agentic AI, Python, and MCP Servers.

Compensation Expectation: $100,000 – $120,000

What You'll Do As a Senior Technical Consultant, Gen AI:
  • Independent Workstream Delivery
    • Take full ownership of assigned workstreams from kickoff through delivery — planning your own work, tracking your own progress, and driving to completion without needing day-to-day direction from a project manager or senior architect.
    • Identify what needs to happen next before being asked — reading the project context, anticipating upcoming dependencies, and raising your hand early when something is going to block delivery.
    • Produce client-ready deliverables — technical documentation, implementation artifacts, test results, and handoff materials — that meet professional quality standards without requiring significant rework by senior team members.
  • Technical Execution Across the Stack
    • Deliver technically sound solutions across the domains relevant to each engagement — data engineering, cloud infrastructure, AI/ML integration, application development, or analytics — applying current best practices and adapting to the client's existing environment.
    • Write clean, well-structured code and configuration that other engineers can read, maintain, and extend — because delivery that only the original author understands is not complete delivery.
    • Make pragmatic technical decisions within your workstream — knowing when to apply the right tool for the job, when to raise a decision to an architect, and when the perfect solution is less valuable than a working one delivered on time.
  • Client Engagement & Communication
    • Communicate clearly and professionally in all client interactions: status updates, technical walkthroughs, requirement clarifications, and risk discussions — adapting your register to your audience without losing precision.
    • Deliver executive-level progress summaries that translate technical work into business language — because senior clients need to understand what is happening without wading through implementation details.
  • Quality, Governance & Continuous Improvement
    • Take ownership of the quality of everything that goes out under your name: tested, documented, reviewed, and meeting the standards the engagement has established — not the minimum that will pass review.

Qualifications:
You could be a great fit if you have:
  • 5+ years of professional experience in technology consulting, software engineering, data engineering, or a closely related technical discipline — with demonstrated history of delivering workstreams independently in client-facing environments.
  • Proven ability to operate without close supervision on complex technical work: planning your own tasks, managing your own time, and driving to completion across multiple concurrent workstreams.
  • Strong technical foundation in at least two of the following domains: data engineering and pipelines, cloud infrastructure and deployment, AI/ML integration, application development, or analytics and BI — with enough breadth to contribute across an engagement beyond your primary specialization.
  • Proficiency in Python and SQL as core working languages; comfort with additional languages, frameworks, and tools as required by engagement context.
  • Experience working directly with clients — in discovery sessions, technical reviews, status meetings, and escalation conversations.
  • A track record of delivering work that other engineers and stakeholders trust: clean code, complete documentation, and handoffs that don't require an extended knowledge transfer to make sense.
  • The professional judgment to know when to decide, when to escalate, and when to push back — and the self-awareness to know which situation you are in.
  • Preferred
    • Experience in one or more of these core verticals: AgTech, Logistics, Financial Services, or Construction — with an understanding of the operational context that shapes technology decisions in those industries.
    • Hands-on experience with modern AI and ML tooling: LLM integration, RAG pipelines, ML model deployment, or AI-powered automation in production environments.
    • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and infrastructure-as-code practices that enable repeatable, auditable deployments.
    • Experience with modern data stack tooling: dbt, Airflow, Snowflake, Databricks, or equivalent platforms used in real client engagements.
    • Professional certifications relevant to your technical domain (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect, Azure AI Engineer, Databricks Certified Data Engineer, dbt Analytics Engineer).
